Updated Souled Out Card Match 1: Ric Flair/David Flair VS Barry
Windham/Curt Hennig WCW Slamboree will be held at the TWA Dome in St. Louis, Missouri on May 9, 1999. Last week's WCW Saturday Night featuring "The Best of Goldberg" received a 2.9 rating. Thunder this past Thursday did a 4.3 rating which is pretty damn good. (Dave Scherer) WCW Thunder Tapings...**Nitro Spilers as Well**...don't read ANY FURTHER if you don't want to know some of what is going to happen on Nitro... At the end of the live Thunder, Mongo and Benoit posed for the crowd after Mongo saved Benoit from the two-on-one beatdown from Windham and Hennig. BAM BAM BIGELOW gave SCOTT PUTSKI Greetings From Asbury Park after six minutes of barely selling anything Putski did. "MEAN WHOOOOOOO! GENE" OKERLUND interviewed JIMMY HART. His major announcement? The FIRST FAMILY is back, and it's... wait for it... MENG and THE BARBARIAN. NORMAN SMILEY procured the Norman Conquest on PRINCE IAUKEA after eight minutes of my life that I won't get back. CHRIS JERICHO (with RALPHUS) hit the LamerTamer... er... LionTamer on VAN HAMMER (without TALENT) while PERRY SATURN watched from the aisle. Before the match, Jericho challenged Saturn to a loser-wears-a-dress match at Souled Out. WRATH almost got the pin after MeltingDown EL DANDY -- BAM BAM BIGELOW interrupted the pinfall. Wrath by DQ. The World Tag Title Tournament match between THE FIRST FAMILY (MENG and THE BARBARIAN with JIMMY HART) and the team of BOBBY DUNCUM JR. and MIKE ENOS ended in a no-contest after the nWo made good on its promise that there won't be a tag team tournament. HOLLYWOOD HOGAN's post-match speech, paraphrased: "After this past Monday Nitro [the live one you haven't seen yet], we know who the TRUE GIANT is, don't we [pointing to KEVIN NASH]? And when it comes to rowdy rowdy and bowdy bowdy... [laughs] guess we won't be hearing *that* anymore..." In other words, GIANT gets his walking papers Monday night, and KONNAN's getting the raza beat out of him. You heard it here first. DISCO INFERNO Chartbustered SUPER CALO after SCOTT HALL hit Calo with the Thundergun taser. Why would he do that? Because the 'Pac doesn't forget when people do favors for them. Hall then informed Disco that he (Disco) had an immediate appointment with Hollywood and Nash. He then continued to challenge GOLDBERG to a Ladder Match at Souled Out, where the object at the top of the ladder will be... wait for it... Hall's Thundergun. In our Thunder Main Event, THE HORSEMEN (CHRIS BENOIT and MONGO McMICHAEL) defeated BARRY WINDHAM and CURT HENNIG by DQ after Hennig broke up a Krippler Krossface on Windham by chairshotting the referee in the ribs, then Benoit on the back. Ric Flair makes the save, then David Flair saves his dad. Somewhere in there, "Fat" Tony Schiavone will be screaming "WE GOTTA GO!", because we segued right into... Your Special (dark) Main Event for the Richmond Fans... RIC FLAIR defeated BARRY WINDHAM with the Figure Four in less than two minutes. Gee, thanks for the Special (dark) Main Event. Recap Kevin Nash defeats The Giant this Monday on Nitro. Konnan will get a beat down from the new nWo. Ladder match at Souled Out betwee Hall and Goldberg for Hall's Taser. Jericho vs Saturn. Loser wears a dress match. NWO is reformed It had to happen sometime. The New World Order is back, better than ever, and the more things change, the more they stay the same. Hollywood Hogan is once again the World Champion, and the NWO has positioned itself for another hostile takeover of WCW, like it did two years ago. Kevin Nash took a dive at the Georgia Dome on Nitro to allow Hogan to reclaim the NWO World Heavyweight Title. Following Nash and Hogan's lead was Scott Hall and Big Poppa Pump. Former champion Bill Goldberg, was, unfortunately, released by police after Miss Elizabeth had filed a harassment complaint against him. As he ran into the ring to confront the NWO, he was double-crossed and racked by Lex Luger, another member of the NWO. After spray painting Goldberg's head with the colors of the NWO, the NWO celebrated. Joining the celebration was another new member of this faction, Buff Bagwell. It feels good. So good. Can anyone stop the NWO? Don't bet on it!
